Dear Future Hubby

I have some exciting news to share! Today, I decided to follow my passion and chase my dreams. I quit my job to focus full time on my events planning business. It hasn’t been an easy decision to make. I really enjoyed the perks from the oil firm. The bonuses and allowances have been more than life savers and helped with lots of projects even with the start of this business. You cannot imagine the number of sleepless nights I have had to deal with considering my options as a side gig or full time. I kept second guessing myself the day I handed in my resignation. The Talent Manager was dumbfounded as I was one of the invaluable assets of the company.

Recently, my renumeration had been bumped up as such she didn’t seem to “handastand” my decision. I explained to her that it was time I had to chase my dreams. She didn’t blink once in 5 minutes as I made my case like in an elevator pitch to a potential investor. But the light bulb had flickered and I was excited.

Today, I woke up with a smile on my face. I didn’t have to get up at 4 am get ready to leave Aburi at 5am for Tema to avoid traffic on my way to my 9 to 5 job. I had enough beauty sleep. I woke up at 7 am to get ready for my business launch today. It hasn’t been an easy journey. I am staring at the website with pictures from the last photoshoot I did. In one of the pictures I stand akimbo looking into the camera with a hearty smile. Here’s a true reflection of that killer smile.

I am excited but beyond that smile, there’s fear, anxiety, self doubt of what could go wrong and uncertainties. In as much as I derive  joy in creating lasting memories for my clients, I tell you there have been days when I felt like giving up. My patience and faith have been tested several times. There have been several setbacks. From unsatisfied clients (even though you go to the moon and back for them), non corporative vendors among others.

It has not been an easy grind running this business in stilettos( I have hired several “lawyers”). But I believe I was born to do this and for this purpose. Ain’t no one stopping me. When you meet Alicia Keys bless her for me and tell her we need more songs from her as Girl On Fire has been on replay since last night. I hope when we finally settle, you will be supportive of my dreams as I do yours. Hope you will always be there to support my grind and give me links too abi?

Hope when you can, you will help out with the decor and set up among others. After all that’s what marriage is about right? Supporting and having each other’s back. Just remember it’s going to be a long road till death parts us.

With love,

Your future wifey ❤❤❤
